NASA and DARPA to develop nuclear thermal rocket engine that may put humans on Mars
NASA and DARP will collaborate on a project to develop nuclear thermal rockets that will shorten transit times to Mars, increase load capacity and generate more power.
NASA is partnering with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), to use a nuclear thermal rocket engine in space, according to reports.
Both agencies will collaborate on the Demonstration Rocket for Agile Cislunar Operations, or DRACO, program, under a "non-reimbursable agreement."
